I'm sure I'm not the only one who admits it: I miss mass.
This pandemic is making me think a lot about what it is that I love about mass, specifically, do I love the ABOUT or do I love the THE of Mass.
Maybe this will help: there are a lot of things we love about the Church, but do we love the Church?
There are a lot of things I love ABOUT going to Mass. For example, I love singing with and hearing the congregation sing. I love wearing something nice to go to church. I love the opportunity to talk to people I have't seen.
But I also love THE Mass, and Easter Vigil is my favorite. I love being a part of the Body of Christ. I love receiving the Eucharist. I love the liturgy.
I love the technology that brings the Church to my home, and I'm happy to admit that absence makes the heart grow fonder.
A blessed Easter to you and your families. May you find Joy in the Word.
Let us pray for each other,
Julie
